Family Fun Outing

A pottery experience is an ideal way to spend time together as a family or to celebrate a special occasion. Families can reserve a table in Artworks and spend an hour or two pottery painting or, if the children are older,  making a pottery piece.

There is a wide selection of blank pottery pieces to choose from including mugs, plates, animal shapes, jewellery boxes or more elaborate vases– you decide. Artworks staff can advise you on the best decorating techniques to use depending on the ages and abilities of the visitor. There is a wide selection of painting projects to choose from, including paint by numbers, banding, stamping and stencilling. We also have loads of ideas books for inspiration. For really little people, a good idea is to paint a set of  hands on a plate.

At the end of the visit, you will have painted your very own individual pottery pieces as a family. Artworks then fires your pottery to make it a permanent souvenir of your day out.

Irish Heritage Week

Heritage Week 2010 will run from the 21st to the 29th of August. Throughout the week, Artworks will run workshops to celebrate Irish culture & heritage. We will show you how to design and paint your own pottery reflecting images of Irish cultural, mythological and historical importance. More details  on Artworks' workshops.
